Per , Fernandes has reportedly been issued a transfer ultimatum, whereby he has to make his decision over his future in the next seven days. The 30-year-old's agent, Miguel Pinho, recently spent three days at the Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh and held negotiations with representatives of Al Hilal.
Amid speculations over the midfielder's future, United boss Ruben Amorim said that he remains hopeful that his compatriot will reject the lucrative Saudi offer to stay at United.
The Red Devils have been advised to sell their marquee player if they formally receive an offer. The club are facing financial problems after missing out on £100m by losing to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final and failing to secure a Champions League slot.
